To the southeast of the Argaka community in the Paphos district, is the dam known as Argaka-Makounda.

This dam is the one that sends water to all the agricultural pieces of land in Argaka. It is a dam which was built in 1964, it has a height of 41 metres and a capacity of 990 thousand cubical metres.

It is worth mentioning that on the 16th of January, the 2012 dam was the first in Paphos to fill up. This was not the only time which it filled up as it usually occurs every year.
