The Panagia Chrysospiliotissa Cave is located in a beautiful green area in the village of Pano Arodes in the Paphos district.
It is a carved temple dedicated to the Virgin Mary - Panagia Chrysospiliotissa , dedicated to the byzantine and roman period. Its interior has a few icons, while in the past it was decorated with murals. The lit candles in the cave show that people still visit the cave in order to pray to the Virgin Mary.
To the north of the cave is a modern but simple chapel dedicated to Panagia Chrysospiliotissa. There was a settlement in the particular area during the earlier years, called Themokrini or Thermokrini.
It is worth mentioning that during the period of the byzantine and roman years, the deserted areas of Akamas had many carved temples, monasteries and settlements which were later on deserted.
