Pannada drink is a traditional cool, pleasant drink that is made from melon seeds.
Pannada drink is a sweet drink similar to Soumada drink (drink made from almonds) that is rich in nutrients. The drink was very popular in Cyprus but it is rarely made anymore.
The drink Pannada originated on the island of Rhodes in Greece and was called pepitada. It is very possible that the name changed during its transfer to Cyprus as well as over time.
The melon seeds are taken out of the melon and then broken up into small pieces until they form a squashed paste. This paste is then mixed with two litres of water to form a milky drink. Once it has boiled well you can then add the honey or rose water according to taste.
