Prodromos Dam is located at an altitude of 1600 metres, about 2 kilometres before reaching the village of Prodromos. It is surrounded by thick pine trees creating a peaceful and magical location, at one of the highest points on the island.

Τhe construction of the dam began in 1960 and was completed in 1962 , with a cost of 100.000 cypriot pounds. The dam is classified as a dirt Out of river – Reservoir, which irrigates about 220 thousand square metres of land in the area. It has a height of 10 metres and a surface area of about 22 square metres, with a capacity of 122.000 cubic metres. The water is channelled to the reservoir from the Harji sources.

Its relatively small surface, as well as its altitude results in the dam turning into a skating rink. The image of the frozen dam is quite different from the image during the other months of the year, however its main denominator is the peace in which the area inspires, as well as the surrounding force of nature itself.
