The chapel of Panagia Galatarkas is located the village of Pomos in the Paphos district.

The church was constructed during the end of the 20th century. During the earlier years, before the Turkish period, there was a monastery dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The monastery was then destroyed during the Turkish period.

Panagia Galatarka cured the pregnant women which suffered by pains or tumours in their breasts. Many young women prayed that they have milk for their new-borns.

It must be noted that the construction of the church is connected with a modern miracle of Panagia Galatarkas. In particular a few years ago Panagia Galatarka cured a small child which had leucemia. The father of this child as full of faith and love and took over the construction of the small simple chapel in place of the old monastery.
