The Inia Basket Weaving Museum is located in the village of Inia, in the Laona area of the Paphos district.
The village has magnificent views across the Akamas Peninsula, and offers a great tradition of basket weaving. The village is situated within the vineyards and receives its name from the word “oinos” which means wine in Greek. Inia is well known for its basket weaving as it is one of the few places in Cyprus in which they are traditionally made.
The Inia Basket Weaving Museum is a small museum that is filled with many baskets and other woven items (trays , wall decorations , containers , fish traps) , which show the traditions and skills that have been passed down from generation to generation.
