The Ayia Napa Sculpture Park is located in the Ayia Napa Municipality. It is a very important cultural project for the municipality and it is the first of its kind in the Ammochostos district.

The aim of the municipality is the creation of this grand project is to promote arts and culture, and to offer to locals and tourists a remarkable area in which they would be happy and enjoy.

Moreover, the Ayia Napa Sculpture Park is situated in the area Stronjilovounano, near the Hippopotamus Palaeontology Cave - on the crossing of the Cavo Greco Avenue and Kriou Nerou Avenue, in a bushy area of 20,000 square metres with wild rock formations , wonderful natural beauty and panoramic view.

The creator of the Sculpture Park is Mr.Kikis Konstantinos. His love for art and culture lead him to want to make Ayia Napa a better tourist location. His vision was then shared with the mayor and the board members who all agreed with the project.

After clearing up the area and planting about 1500 Cypriot trees and plants with the Cypriot characteristic such as, pine trees, cypress trees, terebinth trees, laurel and others aiming to enrich the natural beauty of the area. In November 2013, the landscaping began with offers by donators.

The sculptures were made by foreign and Cypriot sculptors within the framework of the annual international symposium of sculpture, accommodated by Ayia Napa. The sculptures were made during two phases, the first was done between October- November and the second between March – April as these periods were easier to organise accommodation for the artists.

The symposium themes were mainly based on Greek mythology, something that the visitor can understand as well. The symposium for this year will be based on nature and the environment.

The artists create their project on the location where they will be displayed. They are mainly made out of Cypriot limestone from the area of Kyvides. Some artists also use other materials such as metal, ceramic or brass.
