The Music information centre is located in the town of Nicosia. In July 2000 the Ministry Board decided that the creation of a Music information centre was necessary and its operation began. The Centre aims to offer a variety of services to the Cypriot composers, musicians, teachers, students and generally to the music –friendly audience of Cyprus. The first aim of the centre is to create a dynamic archive of Cypriot music. Its goal is to collect and maintain the projects of Cypriot composers in an easy accessed database allowing the public to access it, offering the sheet music along with visual and acoustic aids and biographic materials.

The centre also aims to offer the audience of Cyprus information in relation to the local music and to contribute to the wider cultural development, to make the accomplishments of the local artists well-known and to operate as an extra dynamic voice of the music artists in Cyprus at an international level.
