The purpose of this centre is to inform the visitors and tourists about the unusual nature and the ecological importance of the Akrotiri peninsula area. The centre features interactive displays and computer programs in English. The Environmental Education & Information Centre can be found easily as it is located on the main road of the Akrotiri village.

If you are coming from Limassol, then you will need to follow either the new port road, to Zakaki, Asomatos and then Akrotiri or if you can take the highway Limassol to Paphos and proceed to Akrotiri through Kolossi. If you are coming from Paphos then from the highway Paphos to Limassol, take the exit for Erimi and keep driving towards Erimi, then Kolossi and then you will reach Akrotiri.

The centre has an exhibition room which includes a number of exhibits about flora, fauna, habitats, geology, archaeology, culture and tradition. In addition, the centre features a display with fossils from Akrotiri peninsula, a satellite image of the Akrotiri Peninsula, touch screen computers and exhibits from the traditional basketry at Akrotiri village.

It is also worth mentioning that the Environmental Education & Information Centre has library with a variety of books as well as a study area. There is also a projection room in which presentations are offered to the visitors, emphasizing at the Akrotiri Peninsula creation, and other information regarding the different important elements of the area.

Lastly, one of the most interesting things to do at the centre is to visit the Observation Kiosk which is at the roof of the building and offers spectacular views of the Salt Lake and Limassol. Visitors can admire the area, and observe the different types of birds in the Salt Lake.
